TORONTO REFERENCE LIBRARY
The Toronto Reference Library revitalization project has led to the construction of a new entrance (cube steel) and complete renovation of the special collections building on the fifth floor. Stampa Steel Erectors Ltd. was tasked with the installation of structural steel and the feature stairs in each area.
Project Highlights:
- Bringing in 40tons of steel from street level through an existing 6ft x 3ft opening on the fifth floor to the erection area. (Special Collections)
- Hoisting steel without the use of heavy equipment, including girders weighing up to 4 tons. (Special Collections)
- Working closely with the general contractor and successfully putting together the logistics involved in erection/working in a high traffic area with little to no lay down area. (Cube Building)
